Just Flossy!

Established in October 2019, Just Flossy blog is curated for the minority pre-dental student, offering specialized guidance and uplift throughout the dentistry journey.

With only about 9% of practicing dentists being African American, Hispanic, or Native American in the United States, underrepresented dentists represent a significantly smaller percentage of the dental workforce. Along with this, recent data has shown that minority patients are more likely to see a dentist regularly who shares their culture and background. Therefore, there is an increasing need for minority pre-dental students and dentists as more disadvantaged people are not getting the care they need.

Facing their own unique set of challenges, Just Flossy hopes to be a source for positivity and a space to provide underrepresented pre-dental students with the resources they need to be successful.
